A downloadable game

This game is in very early development - everything you see here is super early prototype footage.

The New Dwarf Project (working title) is a game about the life of dwarves in a harsh world, with a bit of humour and easter eggs. You create your character dwarf, recruit a team of 3 other adventurers in your starting fortress and go to conquer the world.

So what is this game about?

We doing single-player turn-based tactics (X-Com, Battle Brothers), but with some awesome roguelike features.

While the plans for the prototype are small, we will have a dungeon available (caves under the fortress), in which there will be different enemies associated with fantasy and Dwarf Fortress lore.
Dwarves will be able to dig adjacent tiles in a cave to explore the world in search of ore veins and treasures, or to gain a tactical advantage in battle (is still under discussion).
Fighters can pump possession of weapons/armor/object, just using them.
The characters have their own characteristics: someone thin, someone fat, someone a coward, and so on. Features affect combat behavior
Morale will affect the fighters during the campaign and will have to be watched, as well as the level of hunger. If there is no morality, the character can escape from the battle and leave the squad. 
Your characters can lose their heads in battle, get a serious injury, so you have to heal injuries as quickly as possible and hire new fighters in the tavern.

Classes: there will not be a clear distribution to classes, the characters will have a “favorite” weapon / object and will need to be detected during the hikes. When you achieve a high level of proficiency, you will be able to learn to master the handling of these weapons. So we will have master swordsmen, masters in wearing armor, and even masters in the treatment — healers and masters in playing instruments — bards.
We have planned dynamic light and reflection shaders. Most likely we will try to play around with the mechanics of hiding in the shadows.
The goal for the first prototype will be to descend into the lower level of the caves and kill the boss.

For version 2.0 we have a map of the world in our plans, we move around it with a squad and stumble upon events, there will be an entry into different cities and villages inhabited by different races. Hiring fighters will be available in almost any city, it will be possible to hire not only dwarves.
Robing the caravans? Maybe!
A global plot and many sidequests are also planned for this version.

We constantly working on the game, but we are a small newbie indie team and doing the project in our free time. This is our first project, we have one cool programmer, game designer and 2 pixel artists. Progress is slow but steady. Check here or my twitter for updates.
